Terminology
Throughout this course I've learnt many different things any computer engineering. In this course I learnt various information such as some PC terminology 's, researching on a particular PC hardware system, and learning what a PC consists of when building one.During this unit we basically covered all the modern terms for computers this would include: measurements, ports, drives, internal hardware, memory, peripherals, and much more. First couples things I learnt about PC's is there are different types of terminology's that are used throughout the PC. Couple examples of terminology's are:
- Bit- smallest unit of computer data, it takes 8 bits to make 1 byte, and is mostly used to measure data transfer speed.
- Mother board or System board- main circuit board of the computer, it is a rectangle and the biggest piece, all computer parts are connected to it. It is multicoloured, and makes everything work together.
- ROM (Read-Only-Memory) - is a memory containing hardwired instruction that a computer uses when it boots up, before the system software loads.
What these terms are basically used for short forms of each definition. PC mutations made up these terminology so that it would be easier and quicker to teach people what the terms are and use identify parts and pieces quicker.
